Loveburger

3 Sep

The day before yesterday I was exhausted from work, puttering around my house and congratulating myself on the simple act of showering the stench of the flat top out of my hair. I was all, I JUST WANNA SIT ON MY PORCH AND COMPLAIN ABOUT MY DAY AND DRINK SOME WHISKEY. And lo and behold, C shows up grinning at my back door holding a pile of hamburger fixings and a bottle of Jim Beam choice. I love this man.

So while I fiddled with my laptop and drank a Blue Sky Cola and Jim Beam, C threw these together in no time. Don’t ask me what’s in them, I have no idea. But they were amazing. All I can remember is some chili garlic Sriracha aioli, heirloom tomatoes, and a smattering of magic from the magic spice trolls that live in the cupboard over the toaster. The bun is from our bakery (best hamburger buns ever. I swear), and the pole beans are from my mom’s garden. They were a little funky though, I’m assuming from their delicacy and the fact that they festered in a car for about 8 hours before they were refrigerated. Well, can’t say we didn’t try.

For now I’m off to FAMILY FUN BONANZA WEEKEND 2010.  It’s like a carnival and a disco and a trust exercise all rolled into one booze-fueled holiday weekend! That, or, our five family members, a couple of boyfriends, food for days, and a cabin in the Mount Baker National Forest. AND A HOT TUB.

So see you later and have a happy Labor Day weekend! Don’t drink and drive! And make good choices! REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE!!!
